I'm Jess, a maternity photographer based in West Sussex, specialising in relaxed outdoor maternity photoshoots across Horsham, Storrington, Billingshurst, Southwater and the surrounding villages, as well as the South Downs and Sussex countryside.

Whether you're expecting your first baby or your fourth, this chapter deserves to be remembered. Pregnancy is incredible, challenging, emotional and fleeting all at once. Before you know it, those tiny kicks become cuddles, and your bump becomes a memory.

Let's be honest, not everyone enjoys being pregnant. Social media tells us pregnancy should be all glowing skin and flowing dresses, but the reality can be very different. When I was pregnant, I spent time in and out of the hospital and often felt exhausted. Doing my hair and putting on makeup felt like the last thing I wanted to do.

But at 34 weeks, I decided to have maternity photographs taken anyway.

Those images have become some of my most treasured possessions. They remind me not only of what my bump looked like, but of everything my body achieved to bring my daughters safely into the world.

So if you're waiting until you feel more confident, more comfortable or more "photogenic", this is your gentle reminder that you are already enough. One day, these photographs won't just be for you—they'll be for your child too.

When Should You Book Your Horsham Maternity Photoshoot?

The ideal time for your Horsham maternity photoshoot is between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. By this stage, your bump has a beautiful, defined shape, while you're usually still comfortable enough to enjoy a relaxed stroll through one of Horsham's stunning outdoor locations.

I recommend booking shortly after your 20-week scan, particularly if you're hoping for a golden-hour session in the countryside. Sunset sessions are incredibly popular throughout spring and summer, and evening availability fills quickly.

Every pregnancy is unique, so if you're expecting twins, have been advised to deliver early, or simply feel you'd like your session sooner, we'll create a plan that's right for you.
